I’m the line developer for 1879, a steampunk tabletop roleplaying game from FASA Games Inc.
This blog is solely a personal effort and makes no representation to be associated with FASA Games Inc.,
or its parent FASA Corporation. As such, I’m an avid amateur historian, widely but somewhat eclectically read,
and prone to knowing odd bits about stuff here and there. I’m also vividly aware of the colonialist and
imperialist nature of the British Empire of the late Victorian era, what in America was called the Gilded Age
and gave us the term “robber baron” for a captain of industry. A good deal of the conflict in 1879
is class struggle, reflecting the “punk” in steampunk. I tend to muddle things together a bit, the way most
people do. Besides, when you have a hammer, everything starts to look a bit nail like, don’t you agree?
